Somewhere in the Arizona desert, I pull the white whale to a crunching stop on a patch of roadside dirt, on the crest of a small hill, north of Paulden Arizona.
“What are we doing out here?”
“Is something wrong?”
“Hey! What’s going on?”
“Stars,” I say. “We have stopped to see the stars.”

Thanks for sharing this quiet paddle on the Columbia, Paul. Sometimes it was hard to determine where the sky ended and water began.
Padding around here in my pajamas, it isn’t quite light out yet but I can see a coating of snow on the ground outside. No paddling for me here in Sisters – but spring will come again! I hope to paddle together soon so our twin blue Novorca Aleuts can meet. 😉
Cheers,

I’m looking forward to it!
Thank you Paul. Miss paddling with you. I’ve been off the water for two years. This encourages me to attempt to get back on. You’re 80 years of age I think I need a partner. So good to see this and hope to see more
Haha. I’m still in my 60’s but I’d love to paddle together.
Lovely video. My favorite time to paddle is when it’s overcast -or raining (no lightening of course). i also like when you’re with someone who doesn’t need to fill up the space with chatter but instead enjoys being in the present moment, soaking it in.
